Environmental benefits of Composting
Have you ever thought that without throwing away the vegetable waste, we can use it for something productive? Composting, as the word goes is really beneficial for not only the environment, but also us.
Composting reduces the needs of landfills. With the reduction in landfills, not only more land is available for use, but also the toxic substances are disposed off in the proper manner. In addition to that, the landfills are the source of the greenhouse gas like methane. Thus, when the landfills are removed or are disposed off, the production of methane also reduces, thereby reducing the global warming by a small quantity.
Composting also provides us with a concept of re – use. When we reuse items, we save the raw materials. For example, if we can recycle papers and re – use them for any purposes, we can very easily save the new tress from being chopped down. Also, it helps us to save our money because we need not buy new products and can very easily recycle and use the old ones to suit our needs.
Composting can be considered as the nature’s way of recycling the useless materials to produce something effective and useful. For example wastes are recycled by the process of composting. Also, methane which is a harmful greenhouse gas is released from landfills, however, when the same materials are placed in a composting bin and is recycled, no methane is produced. Thus, in order to transform the wastes into something beautiful, we need to start composting the wastes.
