Your home, your ecosystem
Your home is the most important place for you. In fact, it is your sanctuary. You rest there and you are surrounded with your family and friends. All of this means that there is no place for stress and out world problems. With a few tricks, you can make your home your perfect ecosystem. This is only useful if you want to live green and have all benefits of green living.
If you are remodeling your home, use recycled or reuse materials and furniture. There is a lot of used furniture that can be repaired in a couple of minutes. It will look great in your home. Also, when you repair or make something, you appreciate that even more. An additional benefit is that this is cheaper than buying a brand new furniture and materials.
The air inside your home is important as well. Because indoor pollution is even more dangerous than outdoor pollution, you should use plants. They can help you filter the air and improve its quality. There are many plants that can be used for this purpose. Just some of them are: golden pathos, rubber plant, boston fern and many others.
Reduce the amount of the water waste. Use low-flow toilets. They are not expensive, but they are useful, because they use 50% less water. Check all your faucets. If just one of them is leaking, fix or replace it. A leaking faucet can waste a lot of water and this will increase your water bill. Wait until your dishwasher is completely full. It will use the same amount of water when it is empty or full.
