The role of plants in our ecosystem
Plants play a very important role in the ecosystem. They are highly responsible for providing energy to the ecosystems as they produce their energy directly from the sunlight. The process which converts sunlight to energy is known as photosynthesis, and hence plants use this energy to grow and reproduce. They get all their nutrients from the soil in which they are growing. The decomposers in the soil breaks downs the waste and dead materials to provide nutrients to the soil, which soil uses further. Like all living beings, plants also require space to reproduce and to grow. The size of Eco dome present for that plant will influence the space for the plant. All the organisms in the food chain directly or indirectly gets energy from plants.
