Tips for Tomato Growing
It may seem like it is too late to do anything with your garden and plants, but don’t worry, it is never too late.
Of course it is always better to start early in case you want to get the sweetest tomato in the world, but even if you didn’t, here are some tips that can help you correct that “mistake”.
First, if you want to start tomatoes from the seed that you need to make sure you gave a lot of space for the seedlings to branch out.
They need plenty of room because crowded spaces tend to jeopardize their growth, so as soon as you noticed they’ve got their first leaves, you put them into their own pot.
Tomato seedlings need a lot of light, and that light should be direct and strong. Now that is summer you don’t have to worry about the light, but once winter comes you must remember that there isn’t enough sun in the winter, so that’s why you should use some sort of artificial plant lighting.
If you keep your seedlings outside then you don’t have to worry about the breeze, but in case you keep your seedlings inside then you have to provide a breeze by turning a fan.
You should do this every day, approximately for ten minutes and that should satisfy their needs.
Since tomatoes love heat you must preheat the soil that you have in your garden, so use any red or black plastic and cover them few weeks before you started with planting.
Plant your tomatoes very deep, because in that way they will be able to develop roots. When your tomato plants reach approximately around three feet, make sure you remove the old leaves from the bottom.
